Dr Emily Cary

GP – Specialist in Menopause
Qualifications: MB BChir MRCP, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP. Hon Associate Professor UEA

Dr. Cary is an experienced GP with a special interest in women’s health, mental health and menopause.  She takes pride in offering women the time and personalised care they need to explore the best path for them. If Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is part of a patient’s management, she can help them find the safest and most effective treatment.  Above all, Dr. Cary believes in listening to her patients and working with them to help them feel their best.

Dr. Cary completed her medical training at Cambridge University and gained membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) after several years in hospital medicine.  She then transitioned to General Practice, where she enjoys the flexibility and “whole person” approach of the field. She holds diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning.  She has achieved several menopause qualifications, including certification with the British Menopause Society (BMS), and is a proud member of the British and International Menopause Societies.

As an Honorary Associate Professor at UEA, Dr. Cary contributes to medical student education and is dedicated to providing the best care to her NHS and private patients.

Dr. Cary’s menopause training has fuelled her interest in lifestyle medicine and nutrition. She is enjoying putting this into practice at home, though her sons do not always share her enthusiasm! She due to complete CBT training with the British Menopause Society later this year which will complement her interest in women’s mental health.

She enjoys keeping fit and active with running, tennis, and climbing, and loves going on ski holidays with her husband and two sons.
