Nihar has worked with Healthshare for over five years so far. In this time, he has gradually progressed in his career from band 6 to band 7, and now works as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist. This means he can conduct advanced MSK assessment, use clinical reasoning, carry out appropriate diagnoses and management plans and refer patients for investigations or other specialties. Following further training and supported by Healthshare, Nihar can now also conduct steroid injections and manage patients with persistent pain or long-term conditions.
Prior to this, Nihar qualified in India as a physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal health and sports physiotherapy. After this, he travelled extensively around India supporting cricketers as a physiotherapist.
“On any given day, I could be working with people from a range of different age groups and backgrounds and with a range of different conditions, such as acute or chronic musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. Working with Healthshare really offers you the full spectrum and it’s great to get this kind of extensive experience.
I’ve found the business fosters a really supportive atmosphere where I’ve found myself able to learn from the people around me – discussion and shared learning are encouraged and structured supervision and in-service training are provided. The CPD training on offer, such as advanced assessment, pain management, injection therapy, manual therapy, has meant that I remain at par with the latest evidence & guidelines and able to offer my patients the highest standards of services.”
