Ultrasound

An ultrasound scan is a common procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to create images of the organs, blood vessels and soft tissue inside the body. It can provide accurate information about the size, shape and structure of these different body parts.

An ultrasound scan is a very commonly used method of imaging and has no known harmful effects on humans. A small device called an ultrasound probe is used, which gives off high-frequency sound waves. These sound waves cannot be heard but bounce off different parts of the body creating “echoes”. These echoes are picked up by the probe and turned into a moving image displayed on a monitor, while the scan is carried out.

An ultrasound scan can be used to diagnose medical conditions, or guide a surgeon during certain procedures. We offer a range of ultrasound scans and ultrasound guided injections
