Mr Peter Tomlinson

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Qualifications: MBChB MRCS FRCS

Mr Peter Tomlinson has particular expertise in a broad range of upper limb surgical services which include joint replacement, keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery, Dupuytren’s Contracture, nerve compression (e.g. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), repetitive strain injuries, microsurgery, wrist instability and sports injuries. Mr Tomlinson undertakes keyhole surgery techniques where possible and over 99% of cases are carried out as a day case option.

Mr Tomlinson is the senior NHS Consultant in the Hand, Wrist, Elbow & Shoulder Unit at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester as well as providing an outpatient and surgical day case service to the Andover War Memorial Hospital, and a trauma service covering emergency Orthopaedic care in the North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke. With the help of his team, he maintains an active interest in teaching and ongoing research on upper limb disorders and has published a number of articles in the leading medical literature.

Above all, Mr Tomlinson believes strongly in delivering the highest level of personal patient focused care to his local community.
