Dr Matthew Thomas is a consultant radiologist specialising in musculoskeletal and spinal imaging and intervention.

Initially he pursued a career in surgery obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002, before changing direction towards Radiology. In 2006, he joined the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists after training at St George’s in London. Dr Thomas then pursued a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Southampton where he has now practiced for over 10 years.

During this time Dr Thomas has participated in local research into Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis and lectures on the Sports and Exercise course at Southampton University. He has also led the musculoskeletal training module in the past, and is currently the MSK radiology lead at Southampton General.
